1998 - Bridgehaugh and Paisley Shawls....

1998
A series of strategic acquisitions took place during 1997 and 1998 which saw the company taking a minor shareholding in Bridgehaugh Ltd, a start up yarn dyeing business in Selkirk, and a majority shareholding in the old established fabric finisher John Turnbull and Sons. Sadly this company had to withdraw from the market in 2000, following a particularly difficult period. Nevertheless, Bridgehaugh continues today as one of Scotland’s premier dyehouses. Macnaughton Holdings also purchased the entire capital of Whitehill and Wilsons Ltd, the last remaining shawl maker in the town of Paisley, from the Wilson family.
